About Lisa:
Lisa is a trauma therapist and author. She is experienced in working with children, young people, and women and men across the lifespan. She genuinely enjoys working with people to help them to be the best possible versions of themselves. In her previous life, Lisa was a secondary school teacher who later transitioned to working with children with special needs. Her strong sense of social justice and human rights, interest in mental health, genuine love for people and passion to empower individuals who have experienced trauma led her to embark on a counselling and social work career. Lisa has worked with women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse (clinical manager of a D&FV prevention service) and as a mental health clinician.

Lisa specialises in working with people who have experienced complex childhood trauma. Lisa’s approach is founded on the Power Threat Meaning Framework that empowers individuals rather than pathologises them. Where there is trauma, there is space for recovery. She is a feminist and LGBTIQA+ ally who employs a trauma-informed, attachment-focused approach to people’s paths to triumphant transformation. Their healing paths are paved with kindness. compassion, curiosity, humour, and play.

In Lisa’s ‘spare time’, she likes to write, read, listen to music, paint, and explore the universe.
